This bit features a solid medium port mouthpiece that creates space for the tongue by lifting the center of the mouthpiece and reducing tongue pressure. This design can be beneficial for horses with a sensitive mouth or tongue, helping promote improved bit acceptance and a more consistent connection.

The mouthpiece is handmade in sweet iron. When exposed to moisture, sweet iron produces a warming effect and a mild sweet taste in the horse’s mouth. These qualities can encourage increased mouthing and salivation, which may support a softer and more relaxed feel in the contact.

The two-ring cheekpiece offers versatile rein placement options. The top ring creates a milder, more direct contact similar to a snaffle, while the lower ring introduces leverage, increasing poll and mouth pressure when needed.

When used with a curb chain or curb strap, pressure is applied to the chin and jaw as the reins engage. This action encourages the horse to maintain a balanced head position while allowing the rider to adjust the level of influence through rein placement.
