The short shanks are designed with two pegs on each side of the bit. When pressure is applied against the horse's cheeks, the small pegs assist the rider in encouraging the horse to turn similar to a bit burr. The mouthpiece is comprised of three pieces, featuring a copper roller. The copper link encourages salivation. This design will help riders with control and steering.
